Counting by 1000s: names of the numbers from 1000 to 9000 are as follows:
1.000: Bin - (One) thousand
2.000: İki bin - Two thousand
3.000: Üç bin - Three thousand
4.000: Dört bin - Four thousand
5.000: Beş bin - Five thousand
6.000: Altı bin - Six thousand
7.000: Yedi bin - Seven thousand
8.000: Sekiz bin - Eigh thousand
9.000: Dokuz bin - Nine thousand
First you should have noticed that in separating the three zeros, in Turkish notation we use periods.
In general the thousands groups are separated with comas and decimal (radix) is separated with a comma
(exactly the opposite compared to how we do it in USA). When we read the big number we don't say the periods
but we do say the comma e.g. "virgül".
Also, as you may guessed, counting for bigger number follows the same rule. Examples:
10.000,23: On bin virgül yirmi üç - Ten thousand (comma) twenty three
23.000,00: Yirmi üç bin virgül çift sıfır () - Twenty three thousand (comma) double zero
3.123.789,56: Üç milyon yüz yirmi üç bin yedi yüz seksen dokuz virgül elli altı -
Three million one hundred twenty three thousand seven hundred eighty nine (comma) fifty six
